Clap on Clap off DIY kit - Detects sound, and turns LED on/off !

$8.50

This listing is for a neat little audio detection circuit. When it detects audio (Say, a clap), the output LED turns on. When the device detects another sound, the LED turns off, and so on. You can also splice off a wire from R14 (470R), which limits the current to the LED, you can interface this kit with your arduino or microcontroller. The kit comes with all of the parts necessary for the build, including the PCB. A schematic diagram is also included. On the same piece of paper that includes the Schematic diagram, there are some instgrcutions that are in Chinese. However, as long as this isn't your first DIY kit, you're in good shape. The PCB is very well labeled, and the schematic is easy to read. The one engineering note that I can offer is that the microphone that is included does not come with legs. You have to take two pieces of wire and solder them to the mic, which is very easy, and only takes a second. As well, IF YOU PLACE THE MIC IN BACKWARDS, THE CIRCUIT WILL NOT WORK! If your circuit has been put together and is not working, and you're sure that everything is in the proper place, and that there are no shorts, then likely your mic is in backwards. This happened to me =s
